Maximilian Rewell

"Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference."

Who am I?

I'm a 30-year-old bilingual entrepreneur from Ullanlinna. My immediate family includes my parents, two siblings and our beloved dogs. I completed both high school and university in the U.S., where competitive rowing was a significant part of my life.

After graduating from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, I fulfilled my military service in the Finnish Navy's Naval Reserve Officer Course 174, where I served as our Officer Student body president. For the past five years, I worked in the real estate investment sector in both Helsinki and Stockholm. Today, I'm the COO of our family business.

Why am I running?

I'm campaigning and working toward an international, business-friendly, safe and economically stable Helsinki. I want to create a modern European capital characterized by equal opportunity and the freedom to be oneself. I'm also advocating for improvements in our children's and youth's education, sports and mental well-being.

What kind of Helsinki do I want to build?

What if Helsinki became the most dynamic capital in the Nordics?

  • Helsinki's city centre is the beating heart of Finland. Urban city planning should be based on facts, not ideology.

  • Helsinki must be safe around the clock. Our residents must feel a sense of security in their daily lives.

  • Helsinki should attract the most innovative and talented individuals and businesses. Helsinki must be a place where people can thrive and succeed through their own hard work.

Helsinki's future is now!

  • A thriving educational system lays the foundation for Helsinki to be successful in the long-term. We must tackle the increasing segregation in our school system. I believe that sports and healthy competition belong in our schools.

  • Let's exercise together! Helsinki must offer public sports and exercise opportunities in all neighbourhoods around the city.

  • As a former competitive athlete, I know that success in academics and sports can go hand in hand in our children's and youth's upbringings.

We need determined decision-making and economic policy!

  • Our healthcare ecosystem must provide timely and high-quality care to those in need. We must shift the focus and resources of our primary healthcare system to preventative healthcare measures.

  • Helsinki's public procurement process must be tendered fairly, and we need to strengthen our collaboration with the private sector.

  • The planning, budgeting and execution of major projects and investments must be transparent and carefully implemented using common sense.
